WeCar - Car Sharing Program Launched
Living downtown is all about simple convenience, and now life downtown just got even easier!
Enterprise Rent-A-Car, launched WeCar in downtown St. Louis this week. The concept is called car sharing and it allows downtown residents and employees to use a community car on an hourly basis for personal use, all for less than the cost of a tank of gas. There are a total of nine WeCar cars stationed downtown. One particular car, a Toyota Prius, is parked at 10th and Olive and devoted to residents of the Syndicate.
A website dedicated to the concept of Car Sharing, www.carsharing.net , defines this transportation concept, “Car Sharing provides flexible wheels for an urban lifestyle. It's instant-access to a network of cars throughout the city, 24 hours-a-day, paying-per-trip, without commitment or inconvenience.”
Through Enterprise’s program, WeCar, the 9 cars downtown can be reserved hourly or overnight by any approved members of WeCar. An annual membership fee can be purchased for just $35, and rental fees are pay as you go. It is $10 per hour to use the Prius, and a flat rate of $30 for overnight use.
The flexibility and convenience of WeCar is hard to beat and allows Syndicate Residents and others downtown to truly enjoy a simple urban lifestyle.
