CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Construction is Moving Along!

As we continue to get closer to closing dates for the 9th floor buyers, some of the interior finishes are beginning to be installed in the 9th floor units.  It will be exciting to see these first units take shape and progress!  Work is also beginning on the balconies for some of those units on the upper floors.  In addition, the exercise room on the 8th floor is receiving its finishing touches and the equipment will be installed shortly after.  The 24 hour fitness facility should be complete by the end of September, ready in plenty of time for the first move ins!

BUYER PROFILE :

Jim and Dianna Shank

Jim and Dianna Shank have been looking at lofts downtown for years before they finally decided on a condo at the SYDNICATE.  One of the many loft tours they attended was actually one of their first dates.  Now married, they are excited about making the move downtown to experience city life, shorten their commutes to work, and meet new friends!

“We have participated in many of the loft tours during the past few years; in fact, our very first date was one of these tours back in 2002!  After we got married and seriously started considering moving downtown (a place we both love!), we fell in love with the Syndicate because of its location in the Old Post Office District and the overall design of the building (both the original exterior and the renovation plans).”

“For Jim, being blocks from work is a plus (and Dianna has an easy commute into Granite City), but we are most looking forward to living a city life (without a yard to cut!) and fully embracing an urban lifestyle (including meeting many new friends!).”

Jim and Dianna are looking forward to true city life and not only a short commute to work but to the gym and the city’s features that they enjoy so much.

“This is a move we have always wanted to make together – to be closer to our jobs, closer to our gym (Marquette YMCA), closer to city amenities -- and closer to a lifestyle that is more “us”!”

After all their searching throughout the years, the Shanks decided on a Condo Style 10 in the SYDICATE for their future home.

“We love unit 10 for lots of reasons – the south-facing windows with their city view, the overall design features of the unit itself (lots of space for an English teacher’s books!), and the kitchen island which we hadn’t seen in a lot of other buildings.”

The Shanks are also looking forward to living in a piece of St. Louis history, in the SYNDICATE, that has been around for more than 100 years and has been a part of a good deal of change and progress in its time.

“We both love the history of the Syndicate building and look forward, after the move, to discovering more about our new home at the Missouri History Museum Library.  For example, the Syndicate Trust was home to the Women’s Equal Suffrage League from 1912-1918, and an interracial sit-it was conducted at the Scruggs lunch counter in this building in 1944.  It will be cool to live in a piece of St Louis history!”

**thank you to Jim and Dianna Shank for sharing their Syndicate story with us.
